If you have been reading some of my hubs you probably already know that I'm quite passionate about home improvement and more specifically woodworking. This hub is probably not for your average amateur woodworker but for those who'd really like to dive into this craft.

For most people, buying a standard table saw and a good fence will be more than enough to do most jobs, but for hardcore woodworkers we really like to see some of the extra toys out there to make our favourite hobby more enjoyable so, let's review some table saw accessories you will need if you want to go from woodwork amateur to woodwork lover.

A good table saw fence: For most people the standard fence that comes with your table saw will be more than enough, but for the more proficient woodworker it will just not be enough. From adjustable fences to automatic positioning systems, with a good replacement fence you can turn your woodwork into a whole new ballgame.

A table saw stand: A good old fashion stand will work fine, but for greater comfort and ease of transportation you might require a new stand, you can have adjustable height, wheels for sliding it around easily or even a retractable one to be able to store it somewhere or load into your car or truck, especially if you have to move your table saw back and forth into the job site, this accessory may be a must.

Safety accessories: There are some extra accessories you might need for extra safety, for example an anti-kickback safety roller a table saw guard or a hand guard, this will make woodworking a job even a kid could do.

Miter gauge: For extra precision and bull's eye cutting having a better miter gauge will greatly enhance the performance of your table saw.

Blades: Extra blades can really improve the finishing touches of your work, depending on the blade you can get a finer surface. A standard blade just doesn't cut it (no pun intended) when you are taking woodwork into a fine art.

There you are some things you might want to consider buying if you really like to dive into this ancient yet beautiful craft, and make good use of them don't embarrass them trying to make some simple shelves.

Have you had a look at the Blade Loc by Bench Dog? It would be a good addition in my opinion.
